For those who worship in Dalat Preaching Centre, having their own church building is one of the biggest dreams they could have for the family of God. And now, their dream is about to come true. The construction work of Dalat Methodist Church has begun and is in the process now.
Located some 4o minutes drive from Mukah, Dalat is small town whose population comprises mainly Melanau and Chinese. Most of the women are farmers while men work out -station. The people are mainly Catholics and ancestor worshippers. The preaching centre is the only Methodist workship plkace in the town.
Starting as a small bible study group in 1989, Dalat preaching centre is now renting a place for their Sunday worship services and other ministires. Their regular service attendance is about 70.
The estimated cost of the church building is about RM 1,500,000.00. They are still short of RM700,000.00. Upon completion, the new church building will have a seating capacity of 150 peoples.
